I started out as a newspaper photographer more than 30 years ago. I have had roles as a picture editor, director of photography and design director for major daily newspapers in the U.S. In 2003, I was an editor on a team of photographers and editors at the Rocky Mountain News awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography for coverage of massive forest fires in the state.
For the last 20 years I have pursued my passion for nature photography as a sideline. After the Rocky Mountain News closed in 2009, I started doing my travel and nature photography business as a full-time job. Over the years I have been published in books, calendars and magazines including National Geographic Traveler, U.S. News & World Report, New Mexico Magazine, Popular Science, and Albuquerque Monthly; and in books and calendars by National Geographic Books, Falcon Press, Rio Nueva Press, Sierra Press, Sierra Club and others.
